Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji has disclosed that his administration paid over N14 billion naira as pension and gratuity to pensioners in the state.

 

Oyebanji while distributing gratuity cheques totalling one billion naira to another batch of 450 pensioners in the state, said his government would continue to prioritize the welfare of the senior citizens as a way of appreciating their services to humanity and the growth of the state.

 

The governor who said he was not unmindful of the challenges being faced by the retirees due to delays in their gratuity payment, restated his administration’s resolve to defray all outstanding gratuity arrears within a short time.

 

He also assured that the government would continue to support the elderly and the vulnerable groups in the state with various social safety nets aimed at providing succour to them.
