The founder of Grace of Mercy Prayer Mountain Worldwide, Prophet Sam Olu-Alo, has called on President Bola Tinubu to urgently strengthen support for Nigeria’s security forces in the wake of deadly violence in Plateau and Benue states.

Dozens of communities in the two north-central states have experienced a spate of attacks in recent weeks, with hundreds reported killed and thousands displaced.

Speaking during a special programme themed God of Elijah at Adamimogo Jesus City, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, on Sunday, Olu-Alo said the country’s security personnel remain under-resourced and ill-equipped to address the rising wave of insecurity.

“Our men and women in uniform are doing their best with what little they have. But their efforts will continue to fall short if they are not adequately supported,” he said. “Our President must prioritise the welfare of security operatives by providing modern vehicles, armoured tanks, ammunition, and other tools they require.”

The cleric warned against reprisal attacks by affected communities, urging residents of Plateau and Benue to seek peace and justice through lawful means.

Prophet Olu-Alo also appealed to corporate organisations to play a role in supporting national security initiatives. “The safety of our communities is not the government’s burden alone. Private companies must also lend their weight,” he said.

Offering prayers for the troubled states and the nation at large, he called for calm and collective effort in confronting Nigeria’s security challenges.

Reflecting on the message of Easter, Olu-Alo urged Christians to stay committed to a life of selflessness and patience. “The death and resurrection of Christ is not a shortcut to wealth or fame. It is a call to righteousness, humility and perseverance,” he said.

He noted that while faith can bring comfort, it should not be mistaken for a magic wand to avoid life’s difficulties.
