The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) says it irresponsible for the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) to sell petrol lifted from the Dangote Refinery higher than imported ones.

IPMAN National Welfare Officer, John Kekeocha, in an interview today, claimed that if NNPCL can sell Dangote products higher than the imported products then there is a need for quick reflection over the operations in the oil sector.

Kekeocha, further stated that there is a possibility that pump price from Dangote refinery may drop as business progress, noting that government can also intervene to reduce the burden on Nigerians.

NNPCL had earlier in a statement claimed that it is paying Dangote Refinery in USD for September 2024 PMS offtake, as Naira transactions will only commence on October 1st, 2024, there justifying the current pump price for products from Dangote.
