Lagos state commissioner for environment and water resources, Tokunbo Wahab has assured that the state government will continue to implement policies that will protect the state against flooding and related occurrences.
Wahab giving updates on social media, said the joint tax force of operatives from his Ministry have commenced the removal of contravening structures built on canal path and drainage alignment along Onyebuchi Avenue, off Ago Palace road, Ago bridge waterside, Okota, and it’s environ.
According to the commissioner, occupants of the affected structures were served notices, and ample time to rectify the errors or look for another settlement before the task force embarked on the demolition exercise.
