Appeal court dismisses PDP's Umar case, affirms Ahmad Aliyu as Sokoto governor

Sokoto State Governor, Ahmad Aliyu has refuted allegations of plans to dethrone the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III.

The governor’s spokesman, Abubakar Bawa, dismissed claims by the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) as baseless and unfounded.

Governor Aliyu emphasized the cordial relationship between his administration and the Sultanate Council, stating that the council is highly respected and regularly consulted on state matters.

The governor urged MURIC and Vice President Kassim Shettima to disregard what he called mischievous groups spreading false information.

He also explained that recent actions involving district heads were due to unbecoming behavior by some traditional rulers, not related to any conflict with the Sultan.
