A senior Customs Service officer tragically collapsed and died during a House of Representatives committee hearing on Tuesday.
The incident occurred around 1:00 pm, despite immediate medical intervention at the National Assembly Clinic.
House Spokesman, Akin Rotimi Jr confirmed the event, expressing deep sorrow but did not disclose the identity of the officer out of respect for the family.
Speaker Abbas Tajudeen extended condolences, describing the deceased as a dedicated public servant.
The House of Representatives pledged support for efforts to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident.
