President Bola Tinubu has summoned the minister of interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo to the presidential villa over a link to embattled minister of humanitarian affairs Betta Edu and the current investigation into diversion of public funds.

 

Tunji-ojo was summoned to Aso rock for overpayment of n438m as a consultancy fee to a company linked to Betta Edu, with reports stating that a company owned by the minister of interior, new planet projects limited was paid by Edu for consultancy services.

 

 

The minister who had earlier denied the allegations, claimed he had resigned his position as a director in the said organization about five years ago, stating that he was in government to serve.

 

 

The minister of interior described the report as shocking insisting, he is only a shareholder in the company and not involved in its day-to-day operations.
