Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District, Ned Nwoko has advocated for liberality in self-protection and handling security, stating that Nigerians should be allowed to bear arms in the wake of endless attacks by bandits and terrorists across the country.

Speaking during a televised interview, Nwoko noted that he had sponsored a bill on the floor of the house which will be read for the first time as soon as the lawmakers resume legislative business after a new year break, insisting that the bill is a reasonable approach to the mindless and senseless killing perpetrated by criminal elements.

The lawmaker who insinuated that the security architecture in the country has been compromised, explaining that previous governments over the year infused huge amount of funds into security, all to no avail, submitting that Nigerians should be allowed to take front seats in securing the country.

Nwankwo however advocated a complete overhaul in the security structure of the country, with sincere reviews that acknowledges and accommodates the current security realities in the country.
