The Nigeria Police Force has set up a Special Operation Squad which will commence immediately in Plateau State as part of security intervention to address insecurity issues in the state.

 

Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, made the disclosure at the Government House in Jos during a condolence visit to the governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, stating that as part of security measures to curtail the incessant attacks; a tactical unit will also be deployed to the state.

 

Egbetokun who appealed for the cooperation of the people, submitted that prompt and useful information will go a long way in expelling the criminals, while charging officers of the force to be discreet in intelligence gathering to ensure all valuable information translates to success.

 

The IGP’s visit follows series of attack by assailants on Bokkos and Barkin Ladi areas of Plateau State on Christmas Eve claimed with over 190 lives lost and many others injured many others and saw buildings and properties destroyed.
