Nigerian Navy says the duty of maritime protection is a combined partnership of government, security operatives and the people to sponsor adequate communication, intelligence sharing and synergy in preserving lives and sustaining development on all side.

 

Speaking at the commissioning of gunboats donate by Akwa Ibom state Governor, Umo Enoh, Chief of Naval staff, Vice Admiral, Emmanuel Ogalla described the gesture as a show of support and security consciousness, towards the battle against threats on the water ways.

 

The Naval Chief however charged state governments to prioritize the security of their states, insisting that a chaotic state cannot develop or attract investors.

 

On his part, Akwa Ibom state Governor Umo Enoh stated that there is a need to tighten internal security if the state will be a hub for tourism and investment, noting that the partnership with the Nigeria Navy is geared towards restoring confidence in the safety and protection of residents and foreigners in the state.
