Osun state government has appealed to residents to always verify information shared via different platforms to avoid falling prey of rumour peddlers and mischief makers.
The plea follows allegations of mismanagement against Governor Adeleke, which says the governor expended two billion Naira on meals, refreshments and welfare packages in the past three months.
Special assistant to the governor on media, Godwin Adeleke speaking during a televised interview, stated that the report is a ploy by unpatriotic persons, seeking to sow seeds of discord in the state.
According to him, the government has parastatals and other agencies where funds are disbursed and adequately utilized, noting that a break down of the expenditure has been uploaded on the state website.
He also addressed issues of six billion spent in total in three months, explaining that the governor’s quarters were renovated, salaries of over seven hundred staff were paid within the period.
