The Lagos Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says 128 people lost their lives in 376 road traffic crashes recorded in the state between January and October 2023.

The Lagos Sector Commander, Babatunde Farinloye, said this at news conference, noting that 1,842 people and 662 vehicles were involved in crashes during period, adding that 237 people sustained various degrees of injuries.

According to Farinloye, the probable causes of the accidents were excessive speed, dangerous driving and overloading, promising that the command would continue to deploy all paraphernalia of enforcement and advocacy to stem the rate and spate of crashes on roads

The corp commander who harped on the importance of World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, said the day is to sensitise the living on safe road practices.
