The United Kingdom, U.S, European Union and China have signed an agreement to regulate advanced forms of artificial intelligence in a bid to control the downsides of the innovation in response to security and economic vulnerabilities.

 

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak who launched the summit called for a new joint global effort to ensure AI is developed and deployed in a safe, responsible way for the benefit of the global community.

U.S Vice President Kamala Harris who is also attending the summit stated that security, economy and other vital aspects of human life will be affected by artificial intelligence, noting that they demand global action to regulate them.

Earlier, leading technology entrepreneur, Elon Musk submitted that human race must harness the potentials of artificial intelligence, describing it as a major threat if not regulated.

China’s vice minister of science and technology, Wu Zhaohui also stated that Beijing was ready to increase collaboration on AI safety to help build an international governance framework.
