President Bola Tinubu has restated his commitment to free, fair and credible elections in Nigeria, promising not to interfere with electoral processes in Nigeria.
Speaking during a meeting with officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu assured there will be no interference in the off-cycle governorship elections in Bayelsa, Kogi, and Imo.
INEC had previously raised security concerns ahead of the polls in one of its meetings with political parties, stating that the commission has battles court judgements, security challenges among other factors to ensure smooth electoral process.
Yakubu also appealed to security officials to deal decisively with those who cause violence on election day.
