The Department of State Services has confirmed the release of former Economic and Financial Crimes Commission boss, Abdulrasheed Bawa after 134days in custody.

Director, Public Relations and Strategic Communications of the DSS, Peter Afunanya, confirmed the release of Bawa in a statement in a post on the agency’s official X account.

recall  the former EFCC boss was arrested and detained hours after he was suspended by president Bola tinubu on June 14.

The Director of Information, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, (SGF), Willie Bassey, while announcing Bawa’s suspension, cited weighty allegations of abuse of office levelled against him as the reason for the president’s decision.
